Question 21: Assalamualaikum Shaikh. I am wondering if you could share with us the specific duas recommended during Ramadan? Jazakallahu khayran

Answer: Assalamualaikum Brother,

The Prophet ﷺ said to Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) to say the following Dua on Laila al-Qadar.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي

‘Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibbul-‘afwa, fa’fu ‘anni

“O Allah, You are the pardoner and love to pardon, so pardon me.”

Apart from this Dua, I am not aware of any specific authentic Duas recommended specifically for Ramadan, instead a person is encouraged to supplicate with whatever they want. It is, however, better to supplicate with words that have come in the Quran or an authentic Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ. And outside the prayer, it is also good to supplicate in our own language with matters that come from the depths of our hearts sincerely for Allah because turning to Allah in supplication is part of sincerity of our worship.

There are many general supplications that are recommended to do and these are good in Ramadan too. Anyone can write some below.
