Answer: Assalamualaikum Brother,

There is no specific Dua to be said before giving Zakat (or zakat Fitr).

The practice of few Muslims which you mentioned in the question is based on a narration recorded by Ibn Majah (no. 356) specifying a Dua before giving Zakat, but scholars of Hadith (such as Imaam Dhahabi and Sh Albaani) said it is weak (while some said it’s fabricated).
