Nothing is more dear to the Believer than entrance into Paradise and the avoidance of Hell. The descriptions of Paradise and Hell and its people inspire every person towards their achieving this ultimate goal.

HikmahWay Institute presents a two-part free webinar series on the topics of the Descriptions of Paradise and Hell. The first webinar, on the topic, “Descriptions of Paradise” was concluded by one of our HikmahWay instructors in mid-September.

We learnt in this webinar that Paradise is the unimaginable reward that Allaah has prepared for His beloved Awliyaa and those who obey Him. It is a perfect life full of complete joy and pleasure, where nothing is lacking and nothing can disturb its purity. What Allaah and His Messenger (S) have told us about it makes our heads wonder in amazement because our minds are not able to comprehend the greatness of such blessings.

There is nothing is this world similar to the eternal blessings in Paradise nor can anything even be compared them, as said by Allah, narrated by Prophet Muhammad (S) in a Hadith Qudsi:

“I have prepared for My righteous slaves that which no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and has never crossed the mind of any human being.”

[Sahih Bukhari]

Narrated by Prophet (S):

“By Allah, this world in comparison with the Hereafter is nothing more than as if one of you put his finger” – and he gestured with his forefinger – “in the sea; let him see how much water he would retrieve.”

[Sahih Muslim]

The key message for us from the webinar is that Paradise are made for those who fear Allah and keep their duty to Him, as Allah says in the Quran:

“But those who fear Allah and keep their duty to their Lord (Allah), for them are built lofty rooms; one above another under which rivers flow (i.e. Paradise). (This is) the Promise of Allah: and Allah does not fail in (His) Promise. “

[Surah az-Zumar (39:20)]

Just as Paradise is full of enjoyment and purity, Hell is full of pain and torment – may Allah protect us from it. Everyone of us may be an inhabitant of Paradise or Hell depending on our deeds and actions. Paradise motivates us to strive hard to realize its great blessings , whilst our belief in Hell creates that checkpoint to a person when they are tempted to the unlawful pleasures and lusts in this Dunya.
